Projects in Focus - Ports of Long Beach

The Port of Long Beach is one of the world's busiest seaports (2nd nationally), and a leading gateway for trade between the United States and Asia. It supports over one million domestic jobs and generates billions of dollars in economic activity each year. The Port has billions of dollars worth of construction upgrades and new facilities underway. Amoroso is currently constructing two new structures at the Port: a new Maintenance Facility and an Operations & IT Building (NOIT), both of which will be LEED Certified Gold.

Project in Focus - San Leandro Waste Water Treatment Plant

March 14, 2013

The City of San Leandro needed to replace their existing 80 year old waste water treatment plant to both comply with the new State Regulations and to upgrade their deteriorating facility to one with the latest equipment, materials and waste water treatment technologies. Their plant discharges an average 5 million gallons of daily effluent directly into the San Francisco Bay and its effluent must therefore, be the cleanest possible.

 


Project in Focus - Oakland International Airport Tank Farm S

November 8, 2012

Located on the outskirts of the Oakland International Airport, the Tank Farm S project is a new maintenance and administration facility for the Oakland Fueling Commission's on-site fueling contractor, SWISSPORT. Bordered on three sides by federally managed wetlands (adjacent to the San Francisco Bay) the previous facility was built in the early 1950's.

Bauchet Street Design - Build Project Earns LEED Gold

November 8, 2012

Amoroso earned LEED Gold on the Bauchet Street Project, a design build, multi-use building for the LA County Metropolitan Transit Authority (MTA). Initially awarded with a goal of Silver, the Design-Build team hit almost every goal prompting the Owner to increase the requirement. LEED Gold was achieved with added PV credits.

Project in Focus - LAUSD ADA Modified Consent Decree

March 28, 2012

With over 28,000 American with Disabilities Act deficiencies, spanning eighty school sites, the LAUSD Modified Consent Decree projects were a huge win for Amoroso. Never before have we taken on projects of such range under a design build partnership, incorporating the Construction Manager as part of the team. Amoroso's intent from the beginning was not only obtain the Group A contract, but the Group B contract as well.
