[Redwood Shores, CA] – Amoroso Construction is thrilled to announce groundbreaking of the new $31 million CORE Recreation Center in Elk Grove, California.
The new 2-story, 54,000 SF recreation and fitness has been in development for over 20 years and was revived roughly four years ago by the Cosumnes Community Services District.
Planned amenities include a large fitness area, exercise rooms, a multi-purpose room for private events and programing, 4 indoor basketball courts with 6 pickleball and 4 volleyball overlay courts, an indoor jogging track, and an event lawn and a bouldering/slackline area.
Amoroso Construction bid farewell to four of our most valuable team members in 2021. Combined, the four superintendents had over 100 years of service with Amoroso and more than 150 years of construction industry experience.
The City of San Francisco's Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Division's emergency response capabilities got a big boost with the completion of the new EMS Station No. 49, Amoroso Construction's recently-completed SF ADF Project. Mayor London Breed and other city officials estimate that the enhanced facility will allow the first responders in the EMS Division, whom they estimate respond to an average of 250 calls for emergency and health crises per day, to meet the increasing need for their services in the city.
Healthcare is Amoroso’s largest core market (41% as of 2020), and we would like to honor all nurses as it is Nurses Appreciation Week. In honor of this week, we would like to spotlight Job 700, the Valley Health Center in Milpitas, CA.
The Valley Health Center (VHC) Milpitas is classified as an OSHPD 3 project and is a LEED Certified building. The facility’s intended use includes spaces for a multitude of health care services, including laboratory, examination rooms, imaging, and administration. This project was completed in December 2009.
Nurses Appreciation Week officially starts each year on May 6th and ends on May 12th – Florence Nightingale’s birthday. Florence Nightingale is iconic to the nursing community as she became the founder of professional and modern nursing. During the Crimean War, she and a team of nurses improved the unsanitary conditions at a British hospital which ultimately reduced death count rates. Florence’s work sparked a worldwide healthcare reform.
Thank you nurses as you ALL are our frontline HEROES! Amoroso is proud to continuously serve the healthcare sector.
Amoroso’s work on the City of Hayward’s new fire station and training center continues, under observance of Covid-19 safety protocols. After breaking ground in early October of 2020, foundation has been poured, structural steel has been erected, and construction is progressing.
The project includes nine new structures, including a firehouse/classroom building, apparatus building, hangar building, training tower, burn Building, storage building, underground Search and Rescue (USAR)/BART Structure, covered break area building, and entry structure, as well as significant site and landscape improvements.
Located on the grounds of the Hayward Executive Airport, the new center will serve the surrounding community in multiple ways, including improved fire response capabilities and top-of-the-line training for all incoming firefighters and emergency response medical personnel. Additionally, the project includes classrooms to be utilized by the local community college, Chabot College, for the expansion of their Fire Training Academy. The educational facilities will also serve local high school students interested in pursuing careers in firefighting and emergency response.
Amoroso is grateful for the collaborative efforts of the City of Hayward, the Chabot-Las Positas Community College District (CLPCCD), and our personnel, to keep work on this essential building moving forward.
