Amoroso's newest project for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers broke ground November 8 in Stockton, Calif. The event hosted more than 200 attendees, including veterans and their families, local policy makers, the mayor of Stockton, and three United States congressmen.

The 158,000-sq.-ft. VA Stockton Community-Based Outpatient Clinic will better serve the 80,000 veterans in the San Joaquin County and will alleviate the stress of having to travel hours just to receive medical care. The $143 million project is expected to complete its first phase in 2022.

"We are so proud to build another project for the Department of Veterans Affairs," said Amoroso President, Bob Erskine. "Being here today reminds me of the real impact we are having in the lives of our communities and for the brave men and women who have served our country."

U.S. Marine Corps veteran and Purple Heart Recipient Faustino Adame Jr. addressed the crowd; "Tino," as he is affectionately addressed, has advocated for decades on the behalf of veterans and been an active participant in the planning of the clinic.

The groundbreaking included Amoroso Northern California President Bob Erskine, Mayor of Stockton Michael Tubbs, Purple Heart recipient Faustino Adame Jr., and Congressmen Jerry McNerney and Josh Harder, as well as many others involved in the building effort.

Stockton alone is home to over 10,000 veterans. The new outpatient Clinic will save hours of travel time and allow accessible healthcare to those in need.
