Amoroso was Awarded the San Francisco Westside Recycled Water Treatment Facility at Oceanside Plant May 9, 2017. The $87.6 million project includes the construction of a new recycled water treatment facility within the existing Oceanside Water Pollution Control Plant. The water produced by this project will be used primarily to irrigate Golden Gate park, Lincoln Park, Presidio Golf Course and other landscaped areas. The aim is to save up to two million gallons per day of drinking water that is currently used for non-drinking purposes. In the future, recycled water could be used for toilet flushing in facilities that have installed dual plumbing for this purpose. Completion is projected in January 2021.

"S. J. Amoroso's performance was exemplary in all phases of construction. They maintained an on-site crew of very efficient people who were able to build an excellent working relationship with subcontractors, architects, inspectors, vendors, outside contractors, and school district personnel… In addition, S. J. Amoroso was very safety-conscious and demonstrated safety first at all times. It was a true pleasure to work with S. J. Amoroso on this project and we would not hesitate to invite them to bid any other work we may have in the future and to recommend them to other school districts in the area as well." Kathy D. Ordner, Facilities Modernization Project Coordinator ~ Los Gatos Union School District
